About ChateauJ

The New Brunswick housing landscape has changed negatively for the passive-income, landlord-occupant homeowner. The renter in 2024 proved that it was a good time to take the unit off the rental market and make it part of the home again. There will be an immediate property-tax savings and now we can have friends visit in their own space, allowing them to do all the weird stuff they do in their own homes without us seeing it (or smelling it), without the added expense of a hotel.

Here's what Chateau Juno boasts for our family and friends: a private entrance and private space, fully-furnished one bedroom with queen bed, a sofa sleeper, full bathroom with shower (sorry no bathtub), a full kitchen, washer and dryer, independent HVAC, TV with YouTube Premium and Plex Movies, WiFi printer and high-speed internet.

Conditions of Use

No Residency

You are a guest staying in the unit temporarily. You are not granted a place to dwell more than 14 days and it is not a bona fide housing unit -- this is not a "residency".

No Pets or Smoking

While Chateau Juno is named after the husky-host, she is particular about other animals in the guesthouse and just doesn't want them there marking, barking, whining, shedding, scratching, or accidentally pooping. Her guardian is sensitive to smells, so no smoking or vaping in or around the property.

No Housekeeper

There is no housekeeper - you soil it, you wash it. Make the bed with fresh linen, wash the used set and then place in the laundry cabinet before you leave. Wash the dishes in the dishwasher and put them away (at least wash them), sweep, clean up, and clean the bathroom (don't leave gross for the next guest). Don't expect FREE to clean itself.

Break It, Buy It

You break it, you bought it. Accidents happen but FREE only goes so far if someone is breaking something all of the time. While you might be embarrassed, or maybe you cannot afford it, please alert us so we know there's an issue. Not knowing is worse than not being told. Thanks!

No Souvenirs

You took it, you bought it - remember that this suite is a free luxury and the items inside cost someone some money. Please respect the host's generosity and don't take something without written permission from the owner. If you really want to buy it, we can suggest links on how to obtain your own.

Someone Lives Above

Be considerate of the host who lives above you (don't crank up the TV or radio, or talk super loud, or fight with each other). If a Co-Host (neighbor friend) requested a stay, don't reflect poorly on them.

Be Mindful of Costs

Everything has been provided - electricity, internet, TV, movies, streaming, linens, dishware, furniture, secured entry, and even some snackies (e.g. coffee k-cups, hot chocolate, water, microwave popcorn). An emphasis on individual use and waste has been considered for each visitor and those items cost a bit more. So help out and maintain a clean unit, turn off lights or A/C or heating when away.

No Charge

This is not a revenue generating unit. There is no expectation that you pay for anything, unless you broke something or took something. If you wish to provide a donation, instructions will be provided but it is not required. Our main concern is that when you leave, it is ready for the next visitor without the need of a hazmat or cleaning crew to undo what ya done.

How to Reserve

You will need your Co-Host code before you can submit a request. Then fill out the form to capture your data. Click to open form capture page.
